Leaky Gas!!! Ahh!!!

Hey. I have a leaky gas cap. I tried buying a new gas cap, but this didnt fix it. I am now guessing it is the gasket in the cap. I just wanted to see if it would be best to get one of those new plastic gas tanks, or try and find a new gasket that's the same size? The tank I have now has a couple small dents in it, but I dont think they'd be enough for it to leak. Is this correct? Thanks,

if its leaking from the cap its the cap's seal. if the cap doesent have a vent on it or has an on/off vent turn it on. cause heat and gas makes pressure and the pressure goes threw where the seal is leaking so will the gas will follow...look into getting a vented gas cap.

Hey. It is vented. If I got a new seal though, it would fix this?

Probably - it's the big rubber seal at the bottom of the cap - Dad's was doing the same thig - we put a new seal on and it fixed it right up. Your local motorcycle salvage yard is bound to have on laying around, or try the classifieds here on the boards.:beer
