I assume you mean the overflow hose? Go see if your overflow is crimped. If its not, thats not the answer. If it is, cut it off and see if it iwll start..

It could be. Maybe a vaccum or something. Try uncrimping/fixing it and see if it works. Thats the only way to find out.

I know what your talking about...if you take the bowl off, there is a metal tube that sticks up from the bottom of the bowl...actually, now that i think of it, it should be built right into the side of the bowl, mine is...take a picture.
do you know how to drain the oil? I Bet its right full of gas.

well guys my dad isnt home so i broke the top of the metal tube off "the part thats crimped" its shorter now. But that wont efftect it will it? so i hooked the gas line back up and it started leaking outta the overflow... its open now but leaks. how do i get the thing from stop leaking??? its got a new seal, needle valve, and valve seat....... wat gives? do i have to adjust the floats up or down anybody now?? well thanks -Joe

Unless the drain screw is open --that steel nipples is blocked off anyway---Sorry , thats not it.

Your needle and seat must be worn. Take the bowl off, keep the fuel line hooked up and push up all the way on the float. turn the gas on. If any gas drips out, the needle and seat is worn. Just keep the fuel shut off when your not riding.
Did you drain your oil?

That tube is the overflow that drains excess fuel from the carb if the needle/seat leaks. It does bypass the drain screw and allows fuel to exit from the same drain. The screw just opens up that passage to the bottom of the bowl, the tube is open to the top. It will drain out fuel if it is now shorter than the set float level. So even if the needle/seat IS shutting of, the fuel will still run over and drain out that tube if it is too short.

if there is any fuel in the bowl it should start,,, turn the gas on till the bowl is full then shut it off and see if it will fire up,,,,, if not you have other problems,,,,,,,,,,,,

so basically...if the tank has a lot of gas in it, and the overflow tube was blocked off completely, and your float was leaking...you basically flooded your engine. The weight of the gas in the tank will push it through the hose, and since it wont go out the overflow, itll go into the motor right? This will have your motor flooded 24/7....you need to shut the tank off, pull the plug, keep on kicking it over, maybe take the pipe off, blow it out with compressed air until its clear, then ill bet that your bike will start.
Good luck
Mike
