I've got an 84 atc 250r. The clutch hardly works. I've replaced the springs, fiber plates, steel plates, basket, pressure plate, rod, ball, cable, and adjusted the cable back and forth. If I adjust the cable on the lever on the side of the motor to about half where it should be there is no clutch. I have to adjust it to the last thread on the side and almost all the way out on the screw on the perch to get the cable to get tight and have a clutch. If I hold the clutch in while just sitting it will slowly creep forward until it doesn't have a clutch at all. I can squeeze the lever and look at the plates and see that they are moving in and out but it doesn't seem to disengage. I've taken it apart at least 10 times and still can't get it right. What could be the problem? The rod on the side of the motor only goes in one way right? If it was back a little farther it seems like it might work better but it only goes in one way.
