I am thinking of selling my 1985 Honda 70 and getting a bigger trike for the kids. I have alot of trouble pricing things when I go to sell them and battle myself on a price. I paid $500.00 for this little 70 that my kids have had alot of fun on. Now many people would say that is way to much to spend, and good luck getting anything near that out of it when you sell. My opinion is this: I look at these machines as a unique ride that is way superior to a 5 HP tube frame go-cart that people will give all kinds of money for. I have seen the cheapest ones in my area at about $800.00 at the local TSC store. You get a Horizontal shaft motor and a cheap frame with some ass hurting seats in it. Then once the kids get going on it you are replacing centrifical clutches all the time and the sprockets are wearing and the chain is off all time ETC........ When you could by a well designed trike that although it is 20 + years old still runs good and requires so little maintenance that it is unreal. I realize when people buy something they want to get it at the cheapest price they can, but in my opinion if you have fun with it , or your children remember the fun they had with it and can recall it someday that is worth all the money in the world. Anyone else have an opinion on this? I guess I kind of got into a rant here but it is truly the way I feel.

It all depends on the shape that its in and also the local market... I see them go here quickly for $300.00 and nice ones go for around $700.00 People just don't buy them for their kids anymore, theres a pretty good ATC 70 following out there...

well first off at least its a honda. so that right there gives you a little more value!! man the yammie guys are gonna sweat that last sentence lol

but, to sell your trike all depends on how bad someone wants it, the condition, and your asking price. i have over paid and gotten good deals.

just remember there is always an arse for every seat. so be firm wit your price but at the same time dont hold out over $50 bucks. it might sit for another 2 months when you could have sold it for the $50 cheaper. not sure if i am making any sense either. check the local papers and see what they might be selling for in your area too. best of luck with your sale

Good advise Mike; well except that Yamaha thing (zingers are sweet!).

Chris, I would rather have a trike then a go cart but remember that is not how kids think. Kids will see the go cart and beg for one, the advertising for 20 year old trikes is not as strong go carts. Parents that are unfamiliar with ATV’s won't see a nice trike being more reliable then a go cart; they just see 20years old verse new.
