I am about to reseal my 83 200x front forks.
Used to have a manual, someone borrowed and lost it.

Does the brand matter?
I guess a one liter bottle will be enough?
What weight fork oil do I need?

depends on what use its gonna see. basic trail rides, put basic automatic trans fluid in it. high paced trails, 7.5-10weight bel-ray fork oil, motocross 15wt. bel-ray.

cant give specs on the amount needed per fork. I dont have my manual on me.

If you use ATf add a teaspoon of brake fluid in each fork. This helps to swell the seal. Never overfill fork oil.

I just want something similar to what would be in it from the factory.
I am going to use it for trails, recreational riding, everything.

I am definitely putting some kind of fork oil, most likely the bel-ray.
Just trying to figure out what weight I need.

If you use ATf add a teaspoon of brake fluid in each fork. This helps to swell the seal. Never overfill fork oil.:wondering Instead of going to all that trouble you can use some trick stuff that's been around for a while now but it goes by different names such as suspension fluid or fork oil. It's made just for suspension components and comes in different weights.:welcome:
