Got a crate for the 350X!!! Few questions??

Hey Folks,

I broke down and bought a crate for my 85 350X. The motor i got is an 86 and the clutch cable has been cut. (Keep in mind the rerouting of the cable in 86)

Does anybody know if my clutch cable on my 85 X will work with this new motor? Or should I get a new cable?

Anything else I should know about this crate before I put it in?

I think you have to get an '86 clutch cable for an '86 motor...they are different than the '85 ones for some reason.

I think you can use your 85 Cable as long as you route it the same way as was on your trike originally......the 86 Cable is different due to the way they routed the cable......if you take all the stuff off you 85 you should be fine......

So if I want to run the cable behind the cylinder I will need to buy an 86 cable, right?

If it was me, I'd just get the '86 cable and be done with it...they're still available from Honda-the oem ones that is.
