Attention 86 atc350x & 86 atc250r Gurus help needed, Please!

Hi Guys
I need some help with some info about using a 86 atc250r headlight/on/off switch on a 85 atc250r and on a 86 atc350x. Has anyone out there tried to use a 86atc250r on/off/headlight switch on a 85 atc250r or 86 atc350x and did it work? I know that my 86 atc250r cdi is different from my 85 atc250r and 86 atc350x but I would think that the light switch/on/off switch would or should work the same on these bikes or am I wrong? The local dealer said he isn't sure if they will match up or not? So, I was if anyone knows or has tried if this work or not? Here is some of the part#s that I have from the dealer 35200-ha2-000 and 35200-ha2-674. I would like to buy 1 or 2 of these switchs before they become unavailable just like so many other parts for these bikes. Any help or advice would be great.

I now there are different connections on the 350x.....you would have to be Mr. Spliceman but I heard you can make them work.....I thought 85/86 250r would interchange

If you can get the wiring diagrams for the different trikes, I can tell you how to wire each of the different switches to work on the different trikes. It just takes the correct splicing.

The 86 250R switch will work on the 85 model. It's the same plug and everything. I have one on my 85.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the info and advice. I am going to pick up a 86 atc250r on/off/light switch for my 85 atc250r. I might even pick up two and maybe try the splice trick. But, I talked to a guy that I play ball with yesterday and he says that his cousin has a really nice mint 86 atc350x that he wants to sell for a descent price. I guess I am going to go look at it see what he wants for it. It ll be nice to have a good running backup 350x e:beer specially when parts are being wiped out every day.
