Yeah over 60 i'd say. Parts are available. PRM makes all kinds of bars. plastic is available. Seat covers are available thru seat. Tank and Fins are not though. Headlights from other Atc's work and are found on ebay. Hubs are still available because 300ex hubs are identicle to them. Exhausts are still available. I hear durablue makes an 82 R axel that fits if you put it in backwards because of the sprocket.

I have an 86 but i dont care bout topend as much as lowend. Wheelies are the funnest thing to do. When you dont have very long to ride, you cans till do wheelies. Its fun to sit down and go on your grab bar. It seems to be ok for what i do.

not to my knowledge, i know that a 350 should push 70 right? and my buddy just bought his from a guy who also has a 400ex, they rode together and the EX blew him away....

400ex goes around 60mph, 350x is around 55-62mph, 200x is like 52mph if that. Sorry but I don't know where in the hell you get these outrageous numbers.

A stock 250r is around 72mph.
A stock 250sx is around 50mph if that.

Before this sparks into an argument, go here:

http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/400ex.htm

Gives real hard specs - data don't lie!!!!!!

400EX = 68.6MPH Stock.

Now through some 22 inchers on the rear and POW = 75+MPH

Also interesting = 350X with 20" = 60MPH
350X with 22" = 66MPH
SPEED MACHINE
350X with 22" tires, 13 / 38 cprockets = 70MPH

That is very inaccurate. ATVsport tested with a RADAR GUN the 400ex goes 57.1mph so if you convert that to asphalt with a lighter rider that world be around 60-63mph

60 mph on any thing with 3 wheel's is fast in my book.

Can we now discuss how many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

How can you argue with the math on that website??????? I don't doubt that ATVSport did that test with a radar gun, but did it list what sprockets and tire size. MATH does not lie!!!!!!

I think 8 angels can square dance on a pins head.

Well, for what it's worth in this discussion, when I bought my new 87 200X (back in 87 of course), I bought it with the option speedo and tach. 63 to 65 mph flat out is all it would do. Yes, that is fast on a 3 wheeler being with the factory tires and being on a gravel road. But I know for a fact that it would do over 60.
