Well you could bolt up a 200x frontend and that would lower the forks... and find you a durable adjustable link to work on the back... I'm not sure if they make one for the 85, but I played with one from a 250 r and it looked like it could be easily modded to work....

get a rear adjustable strut rod from an 86-7 T3 or 85-6 KX250.

the 84-5 KXT's use essentially(sp) the same suspension parts as an 83-4 KX250 and the 86-7 KXT's use essentially the same parts as the 85-6 KX250's.
the rear strut rod for all 4 suspension set ups use the same seals, bushings, bolts, and are all of the same mounting size.

also if you ever need a full linkage rebuild kit go to www.allballsracing.com and get a suspension kit for the 83-4 KX250 for the 84-5 KXT's, and a kit for the 85-6 KX250 for the 86-7 KXT's.

I am using a rear strut rod from and 86 KXT on my 85 T3. if I ever get the chance to do flat track I will get another set of forks and set them up like the jimmy white replica books does. a lot easier to swap out the fork tubes instead of an entire front end.

Another way to lower it would be switch to the 84 Tecate linkage rod. It's shorter than the 85's.

But the adjustable rods as mentioned would be the best.

For the forks, grab another set if you can and lower them per the instrucitons in the Jimmy White Replica Manual. You can find a link to that document on the main page.

Good Luck!

4597612318 is the auction number. I dont have a browser bar so I cant copy/paste the link. it doesnt look like its adjustable cuz its completely compressed. but it is an adjustable link.
