first run of the 185

I took the 185 out today with a friend and his dad. i could not keep up with the 450 speed wise but this little three wheeler did show him a thing or two when it comes to climbing in deep snow. she may have climbed it sideways but she made it all the way to the top. he didn't. the only time i got stuck was a fresh powder hill as deep as my front tire. all i can say is i am very impressed. time for a bigger one i think.:TrikesOwn

i really like my 1980 185. point and shoot it will go up,over or through. maybe not fast but it will go.

i agree totally. everyone harps on my r this my tecate that. thats all good. get some tightwoods and axle deep mud and water an see whos **STOP TYPING AROUND THE WORD FILTERS*** like chuck.:naughty:

YEAH!!!!!! thats right, my current ride is a 200!! that thing will go anywhere, and mines gearing is pretty much the same as a 200s, but i got an 8 tooth sproket... whew with that thing on that sucker would go anywhere...

I gotta agree with you guys too. We have a lot of light timber in river bottoms around here, and my buddy's 185s takes it all, over down trees and up and down river banks, no problem. I'm usually riding the 185 and Dave's riding his 200x, and invariably he dumps the clutch at the wrong moment and then spends 2 or 3 minutes trying to get his very picky machine started again. Meanwhile I've circled around and come up behind him again on the 185. And now I'm just a few days from having one of my own! Dirtface sent me a brake drum, which was all I needed to put my new 200s togther after a wheel bearing change that exploded into one of those projects. Anyway, I drove the 200s a couple of times before starting work on it, and it's just like the 185s...it'll grind through about anything, and especially adept at hill climbing.

Just got back from Glamis and first trip out for my 185 beater camp bike, had a good time on it but the shifter I bought on ebay didnt get here in time, of couse it was in the mailbox when I got home. Ill prolly go through it a little more this summer and get it ready for next season! Sure is fun to cruise around on!

I have a 1983 185s. Last summer i was dragging a big piece of metal to make a mx couse in field.
I had that engine so hot by the time i was done, it was smoking and would barely run. I mean I really overheated the hell out of it.
Let it cool down and started right up and has been running fine ever since!
Not bad for over 20 year old engine! They are tough as nails!
My son rides it now!

defintely gotta agree with you guys..ive had 2 185s's a 200x and a 200m and id say for the best all around it would be the 185..it goes about 50mph and through the woods, snow, and mud...not much stoppin it...i sure miss that x i had tho...now i have an 82' 185 and im currently fixing it to ride..i love these things!!!
