I bought a 200X with the aftermarket Goki Starter. I Replaced the battery and made all new cables but would like to know how I can wire the bike so that it charges the battery. I have a good idea but don't want to overcharge the battery. Can someone who knows please help.
Thanks

Can you send me a photo of your 200x starter? I'd like to get one for mine.

I'd try to find a Big Red stator and wiring harness that has a voltage regulator from about the same year bike and make it work.

I thought about that but since I posted this ad I found a place that showed the wiring for a 350x. I think all I have to do is take the wire that comes fron the stator to the handle switch and splice a wire to the hot lead on the battery. I think that will do it. I believe the stator only puts out 1 amp so it should work.
Thanks

If you try to make your stock 200x stator charge the battery, you have to do more than just hook up the wire. The stock lights are AC, and the battery is DC. You would need to add a regulator. And you would need a switch so that the battery is not being charged when the lights are on. The stock stator does not have enough power to run the lights and charge the battery. You will burn it up if you try to do both.
I do not know if the stator from one of the early electric start trikes would fit, but if it did that would be a good option.

ATCnut is correct. Your best bet is to get a wiring set up from a 84-85 125m, 200e, 200es, or a 200m. You can get the stators to work in a 200x. This would be the easiest route to go, and it shouldn't cost much ( $60 or less ).
