I'm shopping for a new axle/carrier/hubs for the Z. I'm have a Miltech swingarm in the works, it accepts the 400ex carrier.
I plan on doing mainly MX on this trike, but some trail riding. Swinger is a +2.
I would like to have an extended axle, but I'm wondering how much longer is a stock 400ex axle compared to a tri-Z? How much more extended would you go?

What would you guys go with, Durablue or Lonestar?

Also, for a rear shock, what would be a good shock for MX'ing

Thanks!

Plus two should be fine but I find a wide axle/spacers really cuts down on the number of lines you can take over an obstacle. Which in tight trail riding is a pain.

For MX it would be fine. I'm sure if you had the stock shock rebuilt and revalved for the extra swingarm lenght and your weight it would be plenty good. That or a revalved Banshee shock.

Is the stock spring good too?
For a banshee shock, you have to move the gas tank back a bit.
But, if I get a stock shock revalved, will it be any gain to get a banshee or warrier shock done instead?

Not sure. I'd sooner have a newer shock then the old Z unti. A progressive spring and a good rebuild/revalve on the stock shock would be good.
