I am to the point in my 350X rebuild when i need to decide what piston to use. I was thinking of a 12:1 but then do I have to run race gas? Is the 10.25:1 a better option can i run regular 87 octane? I want to get the most power for my money even if it envolves race gas. I mainly wonder if there is that much performance difference between the 12:1 and the 10.25:1?

The 12:1 will give you more power, but It will start harder & you will need to run race gas. I would personaly run a 10.5:1 & put a cam In it & run a 400ex carb with a good pipe.

Also what cam would you recomend? I would like to gain on the mid and top because it has tons of bottom end power but I dont realy want to put in high performance valve springs because of cost.

Most of the cams out there for the 350x are made for mid-top end.Talk to NOS350x about the 400ex carb install.
Here's webcam's site: www.webcaminc.net
Megacycle also makes cams for it.

If you use the search option youll find the info on the 400ex carb ive given it all several times.

It slips right in, just gota remove the intake toob from the frame to the airbox. Its all a tight fit, but works good.
