350x shock adjustment

I have an 86 350x. On the compression adjustment on the reservoir, is this knob supposed to turn hard? I have had the bike 5 years now and I never could turn it. Is there something wrong. If so, is there a way to fix it? Thanks.

Should turn fairly easy, but it may be stuck after not being used in some time. So you definetly got a problem there, did you try turning it gently with chanell locks?

If you take the knob off it seems like there was a ball bearing and spring under there. might just be crusted up...
