Hey guys, I got a problem, Im hooked on trikes and I can't find one to buy anywhere in my area! The other weekend me and my buddies headed out to the country to do some three-wheelin and quading. So as you can probably guess, I jumped on my buddies trike and we started riding all over the country side, ended up racing down on this windy creek, I had a blast.. but now I have come to realize what my next toy should be, but i cant find any...cept for ebay and they are crazy pricey on there and the shipping all the way up here would be crazy. I was wondering if there was anyone in the area that knows of some good places to look or maybe if theres anyone lookin to sell. I know I'm way up here in alberta but I'd be willing to make a short trip if needed... ne help would be great.

Pick up an Bike, Boat, and RV trader. Theres always trikes in there.

Or try www.buysell.com. Prices for trikes in AB are usually outrageous unless you find a farmer that doesnt know what he has.

I got my Honda 200x and a Yamaha 200 from a co-worker. She was tired of looking at them sitting in her yard. I agreed to mow her lawn all last summer for them. THey had been sitting for several years. I took THe Honda to a shop and they got it running for me. I gave the Yamaha to a friend who was suposed to get it running and go riding with me. So far ghe's been too busy with school. Matbe we can go this summer.

The bargain finder is a good start,
I have a 185s which I'm trying to finish up if you want to do some wrenching I'll make you a deal, its got fairly good plastics, new brakes, new wheel bearings, new exaust a bunch of "new to it" used parts to put on it + a spare motor (condition unknown other than its got good compression) and spare pull starter.

The trike runs, is smoky, just needs a hone and new rings

I live in downtown edmonton right now but for the summer I'll be out by stony plain/spruce grove. Do you guys have any specific places you like to ride around here? I only really know any places out by my house, we have a sand pit and a gravel pit and a river just a few miles away.
What's all wrong with your tri-z??

Yeah I just checked 'em out today, it seems like it would be a good project but if i think I'm looking for something with a bit more power, I'd prolly be gettin left in the dust by my friends.

I've got an 84 KXT250 a (Tecate-3) I've just started to rebuild
ie: a new shock, a whole bunch of new suspension parts, seat is just now getting recovered. Not cheap, the shock is $1000.00 alone from Echo Cycle Edmonton (Kawasaki.) + another 200.00 in bolts, bearings, caps etc. It's not a bike for a novice It'll be ride ready again in April / May if your interested. The 185s is pretty quick, they'll run 45 - 50mph all day long.

The crank seals on the Z are leaky I believe, still dont know for sure though.

Is that tecate the yellow one in your pics you sent? I've never seen one of those before.

darrel632

Naw, thats a yamahauler 200L
kawasaki tecate's are usually green, mines RED its a 250 2 stroke thats had some work done to it (head), 5speed manual clutch, Kenda bearclaws, some other stuff,
I won't let people ride my T-3s that have never ridden a 2 stroke before, they usually get hurt.

People argue back and forth all the time as to which was the best sport bike 250R, T-3, ot Tri-Z I'm not sure; all I know is a T-3 is more likely to rip your arms out of the sockets when it hits the powerband than the other two

Somekindofjerk

The T-3's and them are the quickest.... i prefere honda becuase of things i have seen them endure.

Mine needs a bunch of work yet.......How the heck did you manage to find a T3 let alone a red one darrel??? i have never seen one around here...that would be a sweet ride.

I found mine at centerline sports down by Devon, some guy had abandoned it 5 years ago, I bought it 3 years ago fixed it rode it rolled it a month ago,

Now its a rebuild job while I heal. --- some nitwit kid clipped me with a
400ex --bruised kidney, bruised spleen, broken ribs, separated sholder sprained ankle, fractured wrist (I ate the first 1/2 of a roll), a couple guys on the board are selling me some parts, the wife bought me a shock and some bolts, bearings, etc. and got handed a bill for 1275.00 --I love her to death, she's not so sure about me right now. Echo Cycle loves seeing her walk through the door. the banker isn't as impressed.

You paid 1000 for a tecate shock? Your sick. Could have bought a Raptor shock and had it reworked professionally for around 500. lol

5 days,
Thunder Lake ice racing (about 3 miles from my house),
I took the first 1/2 flip (it landed on me) I walked away from it,actually put it on the back of a buddies pickup, walked out of the ER, 5 hours later I was back with the "body" injuries Thank goodness for MX body armour I don't usually wear it, got a new set for christmas, its actually comfortable, without it I probably would have ruptured the spleen. Most of the time spent in the hospital was for blood clots they were draining out of my leg

that doesnt sound too pretty, are you off work right now? How long ago was this? were you the only one that got hurt?

Naw, I'm back at work ,I use my brain more than my back. I got smoked a couple of weeks ago came back to work on Monday. the kid that hit me never had a scratch, bent an A-arm, rim and tire were hooped .Its just the way he hit me while I was sliding the corner just pitched the machine up and over when it hit an ice bank make by plowing snow off the "track" At the time I didn't think it was that bad, I still don't, most of the time was observation and draining a couple of clots

*Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* thats crazy that nothin happened to him. Me and my buddy were riding a couple years ago out in the back quarter and we made a track that we could just do some rippin around on, and he let me ride his trike and i gave him my little dirt bike to putt around on, i was flying round the track on his 250sx and I pulled out to pass him and he did the same to let me by but the back tire of the trike hit the back tire of the bike and sent me for a ride, the back racks on the trike ended up hittin the back of my helmet, did more damage to the fence than me because the trike landed on it's wheels and took off straight for the fenceand took out one of the posts.
