84Tecate and I made a trip down to Fullbore inovation this morning to check out the LQ 250r with the Missle type kit they have with the bigbore 610 motor, well I guess the guy that owns it took it home so we did'nt get to see it, He did copy the article out for me out of Sand sports magazine, It looks a ton better than the missle kit that was offered for the R's and he said it actually handled pretty good, hopefully I can get ahold of the owner and get some pics of it. Must be crazy to have all that power in that bike.... And just a heads up if anyone's interested, the owner said he still has the template for the 85-86 rear fender, so you can get that in any color they offer, and he thinks he has the tool to make the front fenders also.... I did also ask for the Tecate guys on getting repro tecate shroulds and he might if there he could sell 150 pairs, so I doubt that will ever happen. Anyhow it was nice of him to spend a little time with us and chat about trikes... If your interested in the article you can backorder the mag from Sand sports it Nov 99

I was dissapointed that that missle R wasnt there. But anyways.....I dont know about you R guys, but I would take FULL BORE plastic over maier any day, the guy said the rears ran around $240-250 which IMHO is worth it. So now you R guys know there is another option other than maier.

If they had a full set availible then I would invest, my R could use some better looking plastics than the old somewhat dull maiers that grace it now.

I wish I had asked to see what the 250r fender looked like, I know the TRX R fender is pretty darn cool looking. they had one of the clear fenders sitting there and a pretty cool Mountain Dew fender made up for a sponsor bike. I like the burnt orange color they had on display, I'm thinking about having a tank cover made up to match and have the shroulds painted or use black maiers. They said they could make the fronts also out of fiber glass...

I wonder if they would get into making the shrouds? It is becoming time for some company to Produce "Vintage plastics" And I dont mean Maier..

He said it was all about demand, I've talked to OMF, Clarke, the guy who makes the HiFlite covers and now fullbore. and they say if enough orders come in they would consider making stuff. OMF will still make the skidplates, but its the old seat latches I'm after... If only we could convince Dennis Kirk or Rcky Mountain that there is still a market for some of this stuff...

How do we go about showing the demand? I am a Fullbore Dealer but I have never thought about it until now.

Well for one, I told him to check out the OEM fender prices on ebay, Its either OEM or Maier, even used oem plastics are gong for a ransom, Fullbore stuff seems to look nicer and he did the car salman stuff on me, saying that they used better materials... I feel if OMF had 15 orders for 350x skidplates they would bust out a few more to have on the shelf... Other than inquiring I have no idea about how to show them there is a demand... I told him about he three wheeler boards and the number of members round about. Talking to the guy at fullbore he said a couple years ago they were trying to get the Missle type conversion going so they could offer the kit, but they could'nt get the price down to where people would buy them. it cost would have cost $2000.00 for them to be able to produce them... But to even consider that they must have reseached the number of 250r's out there... I think that kit would be killer on a 350x, until I wrecked it anyway. lol

Maybe if we did a pole with everyone interested, the people listed there e-mails so they could be contacted and paid for the product upfront, to fullbore directly. I know thats a rough idea but its a start. I would like to start with getting some shrouds myself

Yeah its tough, its like Aussieduner making shroulds for the aircooled and Tri Z's and even the number plates, when it came down to dropping the cash I don't think he got the responce that he thought he would get. Like i said, if there was only a way we could get Dennis Kirk or another big supplier to buy into selling the products...
