i have an 83 ytm 200 shaft drive. starts first pull everytime, even in the middle of a freezing canadian winter. but it seems once its warmed up, it doesn't like to run quite as nice. it idles a little rougher, and when you give it gas, it bogs for a second first.

any ideas?

thx!

I would start it, get it to normal running temp and start by adjusting carb.

Make sure you air filter is clean (it would make it run richer and cause it to bog like you said) and it that is good then clean you carb.

air filter is non-existent right now. i overhauled/cleaned the carb a while ago, so i don't think it's that. might be running rich, that might explain the great starting in cold weather ;)
i had a riding lawn mower that ran terrible when it was warm. took the head off and cleaned the carbon build up off it, and ran perfect after that. but the engine was noticably warmer than it should be. the ytm engine does not feal warmer than it should be.
i'll try playing with the mixture a bit and see what that does.

thx.
