What do you guys think about putting on of those chinese motors in a 200x 3 wheeler? From what I read they are suppose to be pretty good. The one in my dirtbike has help up well so far, but it does not have many miles on it. Theres a few on ebay that will bolt directly to a xr200. You could probably get one for under 500. Also what is the stock HP on a 84 200x? The motors on Ebay all seem to have 16.25. Just search for 200cc engine and you will find one.

They are suppose to be made from honda's old machinery. Zhongzen (one of the makers) is possible working with Harley.

I am using the Chinese 200's in my Project X conversions and they are holding up really well. There is a lot of upgraded parts like roller cam, multi plate cam chain, much better cam chain adjustment, 6 spring clutch, machined clutch basket, bigger valves. Depending on which brand you get there are different bore and stroke to get to their 196cc's. The ones I use have a stroke of 62mm, up from 57.8mm from Honda. When you consider how much it costs to have your Honda crank stroked to 64mm, the Chinese stuff is good value. Its like getting a stroker motor standard. My brother has one in an ATC185S and it blows the doors off a mildly worked 200X. Just check the bore and stroke of the one you get and make sure it is not a crappy pushrod model. Some models have a short stroke of 53mm but a bore of 69mm. The next thing on my list is to mate one of these 69mm bores with a 62mm crank and end up with 232cc. Should be interesting in an ATC70.

www.dratv.com sells the "lifan" Honda copy motors, which bolt up to many applications and even have electric start on some models.

How much HP does a stock 200x have? This is the motor I am thinking about. What do you guys think?

Also green human, do you have a link or pic to the 200cc motor your using? That would really help. I believe the one I am looking at is a push rod motor. I have read alot of good things about Lifan engines. I have two Lifan 125cc motors for my dirtbike and it runs with my cousins 200x. His take off is a little better, but my topspeed is a little better.

Also I can get the above 200cc motor for 450$. This motor says it will work on a XR200. So it should work on my 200x, correct? I know the kick start is backwards. My exhaust should fit since it would with a XR200 motor, correct? This motor is really appealing to me since it is new, and all the wiring and electronics would also be new. Do you guys think it is worth it?

Is 16 hp and 11 lbs of torque good for this motor?
Idel is 1,500 rpm. I heard that the 1983 to 1985 200X has 14 HP stock.

I was also looking at that motor. Its a lifan. Not sure if its a pushrod motor or not. What makes the push rod motors no good?

I pulled the head off my spare 125cc Lifan engine the other day, and was amazed. It was very clean and well machined. Even the Gaskets looked much better than the replacement stock ones. The piston had valve cut outs and was domed like a higher compression piston. I will take some pics when I get home. I will also have electric start now if it fits. I can't wait.

China had a bad rep for years as selling junk. They have now started competing very well with the Japanese. There quality has improved immensely and they are a legitimate competitor on the world market. No more junk. Even some of there cheap chinese tools are pretty damn nice.

I agree. To bad there commies. I can't wait to get the motor. My stock motor is really strong, it has a high comp piston, new cam, new cam bushing, and fresh paint. It will hit Ebay soon.
