is an 85 and 86 headlight plastic the same??

NO THEY ARE DIFFERENT !!! but interchangable as a whole unit,,,,,,

really, 250rman?? The plastics all the same, its the wattage that changed in 86, right??

No, the '86 light is physically larger so the plastic is different too.

250RMAD has both, so I imagine he is correct.

indeed 250rmad is right the 86 and 85 lights looked quite different on the plastics.

The plastic housings are different. One has a large opening at the bottom. The other has the large openings on either side going top to bottom.
