Try Clarke manufacturing. They make different colors for the 250R.

What do you mean YIKES? Ever pay to have a metal tank painted? Try $125 just for the paint work.

i see.... its not that hard i guess if your that lazy and not handy and have the money to waist.

i only take pride in what i create, not in what others have been paid to do for me.

What year R? 85 or 86? Do you ride it much? If it's for looks and a pride bike I would pop for a paint job and try to rig up a metal one. If you ride it some or often I see no reason why you would ever want metal. Dents from knee pressure, dents from minor crashes or garage mishaps. I'd go Clarke.

i try to ride every weekend in the summer at the dunes here in colorado. its not for show but its nice to have a hot looking bike. i'm thinking of keeping the tank red and putting a red seat cover on it so it looks like a red stripe down the middle. I'm going to go with all blue plastic. its an 86 R. I"m also thinking of making an aluminum Diamond plate tank cover. I'll have to see how it looks once i get the new plastics.

I would try making a tank cover out of blue vinal, maybe you could find one of the old school ones and copy it (I think Ceet made them?).

Thats not a bad idea, I was looking a fullbores Orange rear fenders today and was thinking how I could get a tank to match without paying the high cost of having a plastic tank painted. I've talked to the guy that makes the HiFlite seats and he said he could make tecate tank covers if he had a pattern. I wish I had kept my 85-86 cover now. lol
