Rescued a 85 R today from certain death

Well my wife is real proud of me (yea right) for dragging this thing home today. The previous owner took the motor for a trx he had and then left this chassis to rot. Just barely rolls because the rear bearing are just about froze. The plastic is ok except for the headlight shell and the FMF pipe is almost rusted right through.Needs alot of tlc and of course a motor but will be a good project.What do you guys think?

yeah but im sure you could 350 out of parts if you really wanted to. i think its a good 500R build up!

Rob, nice rescue! 350 is not out of line at all! i've paid a lot more for less. That poor soul deserves a good home. I'm glad it found you. :)

nice find. get a stock engine on ebay. theres always alot of trx ones on there . you'll have a decent trike for around $1200.

There has been a couple motors on ebay that I have been watching. I wont be able to get to it for a while but I will just start collecting parts for now.

I am not sure but I do have a spare CRF450 motor laying around, HMMMM

for $350 that is a really good find...up here theres a 250sx for $350 and the motor is seized solid and the fenders are shot plus more.You made yourself a deal there:w00t:
