By the way. what does everyone think about putting blue fork boots on instead of the black ones?(tecate) I need a pair of mudflaps and some way of securing the seat.
I would switch to blue fork boots to match the seat. DayStar mini-pro's fit well and I think they look good. I Have some yellow ones on my 85 Tri-Z. I also like those 4x4 vehicle shock covers on the older Tecate. They are cheap too. You can see them on Mike from long Island's pics of his awesome Tri-Z.
The seat should have a lever operated latch on the seat base that snaps onto the frame. I have a complete seat in good useable condition. It could use a new cover but looks like you've got one. I also have a decent stock head light and tail light if your interested. drop me an email.

I think the spring in the latch is missing, so is mine, and the seat falls off. I have to find the proper spring for the latch so it will stay closed, I bet that is your problem too.
