Why do people insist on Parting out a Perfect Machine? I guess if you have alot of time to tear her down and money to spend listing all the parts go for it. But every time someone Parts out a Whole machine, that machine is lost forever. If the allmighty dollar runs your life and your not a real Trike Fiend than do as you will. But it would be a shame to part out that Trike. That Tecate should bring in a grand easy. Keep her whole, not many Green Machines out there that look that good.

Don't part that Tecate out. It is too nice. Parting out good running clean trikes is wrecking the hobby we all love.

Personally I would try to sell it whole first. After a real effort to sell it if you have the time then part it. Parting a machine out can bring more money but it is a lot more hassle. Try listing it in your local paper I find that is the easier way to sell, the buyer just comes and picks it up so you don't have to worry about shipping and the fee for the ad is not too much.
I’m not against parting out machines; I have bought used parts before. I just don’t like it when people part out the machines that are in nearly new stock condition.

Nobody gave you crap about buying parts for it did they ?
Kinda a silly quiston to start with ,,,, asking our permission to do what ever with YOUR trike.

myself i would not part out a trike cause i'm not in it for the money. it would be a shame to part out any machine in good working condition. however it is your property and its up to you to do with as you see fit.:)

I dunno... like stated before... it's his machine he can do whatever he wants with it. Personally I think you would make more money parting it out on ebay...
just think of all the other tecates he will be saving... it's like being an organ donor!

Honestly I if it runs and rides good and does not need anything keep her together put a cover over it and forget it. but if it needs work part the sucker out and use the cash on a project... I'm having that debate now on a 84R I picked up, I'd like to clean it up and make another trail bike out of it, but on the other hand I sure can use a few parts off it for my other aircooler and it sure would be nice to have a spare motor on the shelf ready to go....

Bigbore

I'd love to trade... but I have to sell. Besides I picked up that '86 350X and the '84 200X at the auction last week. Those will be going here real soon also.
I didn't really want to part it out it way to clean for that. What do you guys think the T3 is worth? I was thinking $900 - $1000.

Bigbore, I think your price is spot on. They never go real expensive on ebay, even when their tricked out with some rare parts.
Thefox, I knew what he meant, I'm just humoring myself if no one else.
Part it you won't be sorry............aw yes you will.

I don't know how t3 parts are sellin on ebay, i never look for them, but a good clean runnin bike will bring a good bit. I don't really like that brick idea...... sounds painful

I was fortunate to have a spare tecate axle/hubs. Which is the only piece of tecate on this conversion.
There is a difference between parting out a junk left for dead basketcase atc. Rather than a very clean nice one....
