I was thinking about maybe putting a 20 horse shot of nitrous in my R, but i don't race at any serious events, just the local sand dunes ..... then i got to thinkin about a turbo of some kind or somethin, will haveta think of what i can do for a few more ponies  :naughty:

so does a esr built engine like the 310 work better then say a 500cc kx/cr engine?

i have raced CR250's with factory jobs and i have ridden a CR500 with a mx port job... in no way is the 310 kit have more torque then the cr500... NOT EVEN CLOSE... but it pulls on the top end like one... it just runs man.... but esr does make a 350 kit for 250R's that have torque very close to a 500... i have no regretts going 310

The torque no, the 2 i raced were beating me till i shifted into 3rd gear. and my R revved out WAY farther than the 500's :naughty:

500"s readline at 7500 i believe.... a r can with the right porting hit 10K and stock ones rev out and drop the curve at 9K

That is the main drawback to the 500's. Most usually are hanging there tongue out around 8000rpms.

yah but the first 60ft is where a race is won and lost... and the first 60 feet on a 500 goes very fast.... the R can hang but you gotta really rev her out...
