View Full Version : need 200x gearing help. 6 speed 85 model

ok, i have the following mods. xr200 cam, super trapp exhaust, K&N filter, 6 speed XR tranny.

the rear sprocket is a 40 tooth and the rear tires are 22" pro wedges.

i have a 11, 12, 13, and 14 tooth front sprockets.

what is going to be best in the sand?

it also has a +6 axle and a +2" dico swingarm.

i dont know about the 200x but i still love your car! :naughty: Maybe i'll get mine done in the next year or so :( I need to get some cash flow so i can actually get something done on it! It's just sitting out in the drive-way waiting on me to trick it out.

you should see my other mustang!! it is a 93 lx, red with black interior. i have a 351w ready to go in when i get the time.

the red one in the pic has a dart blocked 12:1 nitrous based 438" engine.

thanks for the offer but i think i may need to go smaller on the rear.

well my 90 lx just has that longrod 306 i need to throw into it. I just need to come up with some sub-frame connectors, tubular k-member, tubular a-arms, and get some gears put into the rear end. It wont be the fastest or baddest on the street but it should get up and go, the only problem is with the tranny having a 3400 stall it might be kinda tricky to drive it on the street. LOL

I have a modified '85 X with 14-38 gearing. It's great, it lets the cam do it's thing. I changed from 13-38... it would wind out pretty quickly.

i got a 13-35 on my 200x, i run alot of raods and on a lake so i geared her up really high, the top speed is alot faster than before
