Put a 200x head and cam on it, a performance exhaust, and a good carb. IMO

Does a 200x head fit all the 200 trikes? Is it all years or 83-85 only.

No need to change head unless you have a good complete unit standing by. Go with a 200X piston and cam. They swap directly into your engine.

You can either jet the stock one or update to a flat-side.

That stuf can get pretty complicated though for someone who doesnt really have much experence... no offense to any one not saying *Edited* have none, but if you dont really know what your doing dont get into the motor more can go wrong. The pipe and carb though and gearing even tires many things play into that kinda stuff just my 2 cents.

Well my $.02 is just start simple. Put a pipe on it and in time if you want even more power go with a bigger carb, then move up to a high comp pistion, then go up to camming it.

I agre 100% here. You can trash a good head in under a couple minutes if you don't install everything properly.

With my 200s engine I put a 12:1 wiseco piston in it along with a free flowing exhaust, going from the stock 22inch tires(on a 200x)to 18's made a huge difference as well

I don't know why, but it seems like i find myself in that predicament quite often.

so I take it you dont want to tear back into the engine?it would only make sense...If it was me I would say a bit bigger carb(perhaps a 200x carb or a xr200carb)remember you have a 22mm carb so going to a 200x (24mm)will still be a upgrade.I would say leave the header alone and go with a more free flowing exhaust.what size tires do you have on?hope this helps....

I got 22's on it but there almost gone so i wanna but some light racy 18's on it maybe turftammers or holeshots..And im not looking to do it right now so maybe latter on i wouldent mind doing the motor.
thanks alot guys

I would say a set of 20's would be a better idea...I have 18's on my 200x and there too small for me...like I dont mind the bottoming out...its just the ride quaility isnt as good.if you want to tear into the engine then a 12:1 wiseco piston would give you the most power but is will require you to run "race fuel".A higher grind camshaft will help alot too.

yeah, the higher comp. piston is a good idea if you can get race fuel locally. :)

they make a 10.25:1 piston, i dont understand why everyone always suggests the 12:1. The smaller piston will give you a good performance gain and you can still run cheaper gas.

I would love to put a 12:1 in my 200m/x. But alas im way to broke and it's smoking like a crack whore on the croner. so im going to finish the x and then worry about it

Jetting yours would be alright, but if your wanting more power i would suggest the (86) flat-side carb of a 200x :)

Yeah I would just get an oversized exhaust and put a air cleaner on there.
My 200s always ran rich then I threw a Bassani exhaust on it and removed air box lid.
Corrected the the rich problem and really made a big difference in power.
Went from a black spark plug to a tan one by doing that.

as for price...I would say that you best bet would be a xr200 carb or a 200x
