View Full Version : sx shifter problem
my recently purchased sx has been a real pain in my ass, the shifter is now giving me problems. Its real stiff and I have trouble finding gears. When I shift into wha is supposed to be first the shifter doesnt spring back into its normal centered position it sticks in the up position. Can anyone give me some options on what it could be.

There is a pin that locates the shifter return spring. It probably broke. Pull the LH side cover (where the shift shaft is located). Do a search on 250SX shift for all the info.

Nah it's the whole tranny, sell it to me for 50$.... J/K Max has ya right...
I'll give it whirl, I had fixed the kickstarter and had removed the clutch assemblies on the right side of the motor could anything have caused from that side or do you think its a broke pin on the right side, thanks

I made a pictorial post about this a while back with all the details..
I would consider re-adjusting the clutch to spec before tearing into the side case.. but most likely it's that pin !!!! Don't hammer on the shifter when it won't go.. the shifting fairy won't grant you any wishes of a pain free repair !
