First: the frame on my 85 200x is cracked right above the motor mount. Would welding it be as strong as before? Should I just buy a new frame?

Second: My motor is ticking. I have adjusted my valves and it still ticks. In the past this would fix the issue. Should I just drive and it and not worry about it, or rebuild the top end? The rings are only 1 year old. The reason I ask should I rebuild, is because I will have the motor out anyways if I buy a new frame. The trike has basicly all new parts except frame and motor. Also I am very picky.

Third and last: What pipes are good, and where can you buy them. I only found two on ebay. One was a cobra and the other was a DG.

Thanks in advance guys.

A good weld would fix it. Alot of guys I know with 350X's have had the frame welded because it is very weak in one particular spot.

Check your oil level if it is still ticking.

Yeah the oil is good. In fact I changed it to make sure. Thanks for you input.

Also, does anyone know if a 86 200x frame will work with the 85 parts? And is the sqaure frame any stronger?

if its loud its gotta be good. And I doubt you'll have a problem rusting out with that one.
Oh and the '86 200x is a completely different bike than a '83-'85 200x.

I know, but I thought I would ask.

depending on how bad the crack is it could be welded...if its a bigger sized crack I would say get a different frame..as for switching frames with the 86-87 200x ...there all togther different...are you sure you adjusted the valves correctly?

The frame is cracked completely just above the motor mount. It is split all the way through. I followed the directions from the article posted on this site. I am not new to these motors either.
