I know I know, buy a shop manual. Thats coming, but I need more immediate help. How do I remove the axle and carrier from the swingarm? I AM LOST! Thanks in advance for the help.

haven't done an x yet, but i'd imagine they're the same.
loosen the big axle lock nut, under it is a clip that sits in a groove on the axle. remove the clip and the nut will come off. remove the axle and gettin the carrier out will be self explanatory.
so you know, the axle bearings should be replaced any time you remove the axle. the side pressure you put on the bearings is very rough on them and even though they may not feel bad when ya put it back together they'll likely go bad within a few hours of ride time.

Thanks for the info Steve. I had already planned on replacing the bearings and seals once I had it all torn apart, so thats not a big deal. If you have any tips on installing the new bearings and putting everything back together again I would certainly appreciate it.

Remember that the inner AND outer lock nuts have LEFT HAND threads!
