I just bought a 1984 Yamaha DX225 ATC, and I have a couple questions
Can anyone tell me, do Dealers still carry parts for these things?
I haven't picked it up yet, going to do that tonight. Is is 2 cycle or 4 cycle Does it take mixed gas or does the oil go in the crankcase and the bike runs on just gas?

it's a four stroke. no mixing required. also a great trail trike. very comfy and relatively quick.
ebay and here will probably be your best bet for parts.

Welcome to 3 Wheeler World!
Your local Yamaha dealer will have or be able to get most of the parts you need, although some things you will find are pricey new so picking up used parts off ebay or other board members might be a better option.

Thanks for the Welcome. The Bike/Trike is running and ready to ride according to the seller. I bought it off Ebay. Looks like a nice Bike in the pictures I hope it is as nice as it looks. I had a couple dirt bikes when I was a kid and used to rid a friends Honda Trike once in a while. I had been looking for an ATV but didn't like the Several thousand $$ price tags of the newer 4 wheelers and happened to stumble upon a few 3 wheelers on ebay and wound up finding this Yamaha pretty close to where I live. I am going to use it for hunting mostly. But plan on having lots of fun riding it too.
Whoever it was that asked it is Yellow
One other question if someone can answer it for me.
Does this thing have points or is it an electronic ignition module setup?
I remember replacing many a set of point in the old early 80's dirtbikes I used to ride.

Welcome to the site. We hope you enjoy it!
The machine has a CDI style set up. This is good because you don't have any points to deal with. ;)
