Please!!!! Can someone go out to their bike and measure the heighth of the front end. I need to know because I finally got the money to pick up my trike but the only truck I have is a ford expidition. The dude I bought it off will be home shortly and i want to go pick it up.
The max height of the rear door is 35 inches. Even if I have to take the handle bars off it so shove it in there idk. Do you think it will fit??? If not I will have to wait until the weekend and i would really like to get it now. Any ideas????? :Bounce
Also the width of the rear tires.. I think I should be good with the width just wanna make sure.
PLeASE HELP!!!!!

I'll be right back with your measurements.
Ok. It is a little higher than 38" at its highest point (the throttle housing), and it is 42" wide.
I doubt you could squeeze it into a 35" area, because 35" is right about the top of the forks, but if you had 36ish" it may. 35" will be a tight fit..

well you could either let air out of the front tire, or pull the front forks and tire off. i know it's a little bit of labor but hey, it'd work

Check my last post.. I got the measurements. If you were to let air out of the front tire so it is nearly flat, and turn the handlebars down, I would guarantee it will fit into a 35" space.

A 350 x fits in the back of a new caravan a 250x should fit in an exp go nose first though the wheel fits between the front seats the 350 fits complete I think it was 350n'NY or someone who did it and posted pictures last year.

When i had my sx many moons ago I fit it into the back of a 77 blazer (with the rear seat out) I think we put it in rear first but i really dont remember. And we had the front end out the back held by straps. Idk???

Well its been a good 10 years or so since i was on a trike. Well had one that ran anyway. I never got to ride that 200x!!! You can bash me if you want for it being dirty... BUT you aint seen nothing yet! lol. As soon as I got it out of the truck I just had to take it for a spin. (about an hour) :w00t:
The guy said all the racks, speedo and hour meter were installed at the dealer then his relative got it new. That ammo can will dissapear soon. it's been garage kept its whole life. :p
79.5 hours!!!!! but i dont know how accurate that is. :naughty: or maybe 700 and some not sure.
8 and some hundred odd miles on the speedo. or Do you count the black wheel on the end?!?!?! Not too sure how that workS!!!

Things i see wrong so far...
the thing that worries me the most is a light ticking in the top end. Valves!!!
My grizzly has been sitting for months cause i didn't have the cash to take it to the shop. And trust me when I tell you folks i'm not intelligent enough to do it myself!!!
The mounting screws for the meter are missing. IDK. it don't say honda so i dont know if its original. Maybe i misundersttod or dreamed about it instead. But I've been on the boards for a while now and don't remember seeing anyone with one of these. ANYONE have or seen one?
reverse light don't work
the run stop switch is broke and there is a screw holding it in the run position. No big deal really I just use the key to shut it down.
tommorrow when i get home from work I'll look over it real good and post some better pics. you can't really tell how good of shape this 20+ year old trike is. But I'm SURE it will clean up nice.

Sorry guys but you can imagine how stoked I am. I think I peed myself! if you've been around the boards for a while you should know I haven't had the best of luck with anything I aquired. :w00t: in the last couple years.
last running anything i had was a 2001 kawisuki (sorry tecate guys?) prarie 400 which i managed to demolish less than a month after bring it home.  of bringing it home. I got a good deal it was a leftover/clearence type deal.
ok one more thing... the chrome ring for the speedo is missing... good ole electrical tape holding it on there just fine. I need a ring... anyone have one/

I spy with my little eye something purple :D. Gotta love a K$N. Looks good chris. The valves arent a big deal (really easy to adjust). If you can find my previous thread about valve adjusting, it has a owners manual scan of how to do it from Huffa if you dont have a manual.

Nice score. I want to get one of those for my collection. I don't think that the hour meter is Honda. I have not seen one like that befor.

Nice SX you picked up. How much did that set you back?
And that thing on the headlight.. what is that?? Looks like something that belongs with the speedo..
And nice Mercer Mall signs.. lol.

The hour meter is a Hobbs. Nice looking SX. I'd give $800-1000 for it any day.

Yea, like pops said, valves are easy to adjust, if you dont feel confident doing it your self, load it up in the jeep and take it to a shop and they can probably do it in less than 10 mins.
Sweet looking SX...I gotta get myself a honda...Im sick of all this fixing stuff....

I paid $1000 for it. I think that's a steal with the way these prices are rising!!!
I can hardly wait till tomorrw afternoon. :Bounce Rain or shine i'll be out RIDING!!! :w00t: I havent said that phrase in a long time. :naughty:
OK pics. For you math wizards... Can you explain the speedo and meter. Which number is which? Milage trip meter??? Does the math add up? hours vs. miles Does that seems right or not What i mean is do you guys think the meter was installed at or around the same time as the speedo?????
Hobbs is indeed what the meter is. anyone have one? was there ever a hondaline meter????

I took 3082/76.5 and go 40.3mp/h average
That sounds posible to me if the guy rode a lot of gravel roads or something.
The hourmeter could of also been installed after the speedo

is that hobbs thing resetable? If so you might have your answer as to why it is so low compared to the speedo.

You put the handle of the hook shaped thing into the slit in the long flat thing (its for leverage), and then you put the hook on the adjuster of the shock, put the end of the hook into one of the slits on the adjuster, and turn it whichever way you want to turn it.
I don't know if you get what I'm saying but..

i thought that tool was a pin spanner to adjust the chain slack? maybe thats only on my 85 350x

01-31-2006, 10:33 PM
ah so thats the shock adjuster! I was wonder what mine was for a while now
Looks like your also missing the metal rod that goes into your spark plug remover.

I don't know if you get what I'm saying but..
So it's for the rear shock??? A leverage bar is the proper annonciation i think? :naughty:
Ok some other minor problems...
brake lever is bent. He bumed a tree or something he says. Can that be rebent back out without it snapping?
Front brakes dont work... i found that out the hard way. :naughty:
Did i mention about the speedo?? needs a chrome ring. to hold the lense on.
it's missing one of the screw knob things that hold on the rear rack??? anyone??? :naughty:
I never seen these chrome (?) caps on the swinger before either. I guess that was a question?

the metal caps keep water out better so your bearings dont get destroyed so fast. Trust me it does work. And I have a screw knob if you'd like it.

Well I got it cleaned up a bit and a complete tune up... Even adjust the valves...
Took it out for a bit and the guy who owns the farm i live at (our house is in the back of his property) He chased me down and told me not to tresspass on his property. I wasn't riding in the fields (well not the winter ones) just along the woods at the edge of the feilds!
OH WELL!!! Hers a couple pics for you guys to drool over...:D
