I have a 85 200x with a uni filter and a supertrapp pipe. Ever since I owned it if I really hit the throttle it will usually die. It does it when the engine is cold and when it is really warm. When it is cold, if I give it a little gas it will usually die. It starts and runs great (except for when I hit the gas hard). I have tried different needle setting and adjusted the pilot screw many time and nothing helps. I also have adjusted the valves. Does it need jetted? Timed? Carb cleaned? :?
The carb may just need some cleaning. My YTM200 used to spit and sputter when I would hit it hard, and it just kept getting worse and worse until I was getting NO fuel, period. I took the carb off, took off the bowl, shot carb cleaner up all over the place, move the float to make sure it wasn't stuck, put the bowl back on, put the carb back on. Boom, worked great, no probs ever since.

I would definently invest in a carb kit (just cause trike usuallu need em if they have sat for any longer period of time) and your jetting also sound like it is off.

I'll try cleaning the carb and see if that helps.
