well today i was riding and i noticed the bike was louder and backfireing a little more then normal....so i started checking the exhaust and i found a crack in the head pipe about a half an inch from the exhaust port...i have another head pipe but the nuts and the studs are so rusted i cant get them off....i know riding with out a head pipe will burn the valves but will it hurt it riding with the crack?

I use PB Blaster-soak them well for a couple days prior to trying to remove them, tighten them first just alittle, then loosen, tighten and loosen in very small incremants till you can get them off.

i heated the nuts[or acorn nuts] up with a torch.i had a stud break and had to drill it out a little at a time till i could retap and insert a new stud...that was a bit#%! worked out well though

well the update on this is....i got one nut off with no problems....i broke one stud....and the third one i did is now rounded off...so im gonna have to get it with vice grips....and i still have to try for the fourth nut...this is really pissing me off seeing as how i just put $117 into fixing the bearings and carrier in the swing arm...now im gonna have to get studs and nuts and probly a grinder and a tap :wondering
