What year is your 250sx Mine is a 1986. if you use the 250r front end from I Think 1985-86. You should need not machine work at all. I have heard people with a 1985 sx using a 200x front end no machine work at all, I found that my 1986 would not work with the 200x front end with out machine work or frame mods. The stems are the same. It really only depends on were your stops are. You don't want to dent up your gas tank! IMO you should try to avoid any frame mods just incase you decide you don't like it. It will most defintely turn that 250sx in a wheelie monster. I have to remember to take it easy when I start up, took ahile to get use to.

I bought 5 parts 250es and 250 sx mixed they had 250r 85/86 front ends on them and the added a stop on the triple trees not on the frame and they would work great and looked like the belonged

Mine just bolted right up no mods. Have you ever removed you clamps? I usually get 2 of my boys to catch the bouncing ball bearing. Or you can by a set of sealed bearing. I never did, just packed the races with high temp grease and used a floor jack to lift and lower the clamps on, like changing a ball joint on a chevy.

Don't worry bro, These things were built like tanks, I got mine for my 14th birthday rode it 3 seasons and parked because my cousin was killed on his. When I grew up and realized it was a accident and would have happened on a dirt bike, quad or bicyle even, I picked up from my dads in 2001. I rolled it back in forth for 3 years on skateboards in my garage until on day I decided to see if it would crank. Bought a used carb off of ebay and 2 kicks fired right up. Amazing that think sat for 15 years and it runs like it did in 1986 when I first got it. Took awhile to get it road worthy, everything was rusty. The rims all three were so rusted the beads were disintergrated.
