Well after 36 days of rest, the Tri-Z went for a rip today. After I fixed the cracked case, POS chain OEM chain, painted pipe and did some other stuff she was all ready to go. I was testing all the kicker gears and all that was in right, I was ready to kick her over. Must have left the kill switch on, one smooth swift stroke and no choke and she fired and purred like a kitten. I couldnt beleive it!

Ok, water pump seal. All Z owners beware of this. It is SO brutal to get this in. I had to use a socket on each side, one on the seal other on metal other side, stick it in a vise and slowly apply pressure making sure the socket doesnt hit the seal and damage it. Got it in after I had already damaged one and had to wait another 4 days to get another in.

I got the following new,
OEM bolts,
OEM side case
OEM gaskets
X ring gold plated chain(sprockets too)
Water pump seal
And a "new" used clutch assembly.
Painted-
Water pump cover
Pipe
Here are some pics, Im just SO SO happy shes all together and ready to go.:w00t:
She runs like a raped ape on fire running through a retirement home while smoking crack while being chased by rabid Walrus's.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me out on this one.

Those clutch covers ALWAYS crack there....POS as far as I'm concerned.

It might be the lighting in the picture, but the pic of your new chain looks like the clip on the master link is on backwards. Hate for you to crack your new case!

I was going to say the same thing. You need to turn that clip around before you get stranded!

glad you got her goin again.but why was the pump seal so hard? i used a banshee seal on mine and it slid right in there. and how did the sidecover crack like that? where did you get the new sidecover from?how much was it?

The seal moshman just didnt want to fit in. She was REAL tight. I was kicking her over and wham! she cracked. I got the new cover from Yamaha out of my dealer. It was like 150 for all new bolts, case, and gaskets.
