Need some more speed??? 350X

I am running my 20" tires on my 350X now. I used to have 22" tires on it. I do a lot of gravel road riding, and I liked how the 22"s would go down the road around 50 MPH without much throttle. The 20" tires make it wind a bit tighter.

What is the best solution?

I want to ride 50 MPH without much RPM. Would a sprocket change be the fix? And do I need to put both front and rear sprockets on?

Thats what I did on my 200, I changed the front sprocket up 1 tooth and it goes better. I do riding on logging roads and when I'm following someone they used to blow me away because I would be topped out to quick.

You are having trouble running 50 mph on a 350x? That seems really slow for a 350x. I am running 20's on my 350x and went with a 14 tooth on the front. It does help. Do a search there was just a tread on this a few days ago. I am up in the high 60's low 70's. Maybe you have some brakes grabbing? Even stock sprockets and 20" tires you should do 50 with out much trouble.

wow only 50, yea on my 200x i changed both sprokets, i run alot of roads where i live so wanted the most top end as possible, so i went 1 tooth more on the front and i dropped 5 in the back, wow did that make a difference, but when i go trail riding i put the stock rear sproket on, but yea you dont have to do both, id at least go a 1 or 2 teeth on front if you want some more speed

like xman said when you go up 1 tooth on the front that is about the equvalient of going up 5 in the back. on my 250r i went from a 13 to a 14 in the front and wow did it make a differece but i lost some bottom end but gained top end so it is a trade off and the good thing about going up a tooth is you probly wont have to add a link. mess with the front *Edited**Edited* *Edited* mess with the back sprocket.

Let me clarify. I can do around 65 MPH with my 20" tires and stock gearing now, but that is close to WOT.

However, I would like to cruise at 50 MPH with little throttle.

So do you think I should put both sprockets on, or just the front?
