1979 Atc 70

A buddy of mine loaned me his 70 so I can let my son try it out......the trike seems to have a intermittent problem as some times it starts right up and the next time you try nothing.....like no spark......sounds like a coil problem to me.....is there an online manual for this machine??? where would I get a coil for it??....thanks

I would say you just need to clean the points. I own 2 atc70's and every time there is a spark problem, it's the points. All it takes is a little speck of dirt and zip, nada, nothing.

The points are in behind the pullstarter and flywheel. I don't know of a online manual for this machine, but I can probably get the spec's for you ( when I get to the shop ).

Don't forget to make sure you have a clean ground. I had a similar problem on my atc70 and cleaning up the ground contact at the coild mount and tightening it up cleared it right up.
