Has any one here ever ran Golden Spectro? The guy at my Honda shop says its the only stuff he uses so i decided to give it a try. Its a 12oz bottle that your supposed to mix with 5 gal. of gas to run at a 52:1 mix ratio. Is it ok to change from a 32:1 ratio to a 50:1? or are you suposed ease into it? and or do you have to rejet?

You can use any ratio if you mix it right. I use 32.1 and i always use golden it is good stuff and it has been around for a long time.

I love Klotz, but its expensive. I have run golden spectro for years in different models mixing it as stated on bottle... 1 bottle to 5 gallons. It seems to be a great oil. I have had no problems with it.

Alot of people around my area run Golden, but I love Klotz, and yes it is expensive. As long as you don't buy your oil from Wal-Mart or Autozone, you'll be just fine.

Spectro has been around for ages, and was one of the first synthetics to replace the 20:1 mixes. It was packaged in a 12.8 oz bottle so you could dump it in a 5 gal can without measuring, which comes out at 50:1. Are there newer products that are better? Probably, but Spectro is still a great product. Any time you switch oils, not just ratios, you need to carefully monitor your plug, as jet changes may be necessary. It will take time for your new mix to stabilize into a consistant chamber condition so understand that what works at first may need to be altered after a tank or two of the new gas has been run through. Do not "ease into it" or youll be trying to monitor and setup a moving target.

I have an old retro bottle of Spectro that came with my 82R roller I picked up at Trikefest. It's pretty sweet... has a couple trikes and an odyessy on it!
