I called Dura-Blue and asked about the 84-85 Tecate Axle. They dont do them anymore. We did talk awhile and I told him how the 3 wheeler Market is Hot and that we want to rebuild and put the best goodies we can afford on our Trikes. I told him of the # of People looking for a New Extended Axle for their Tecates and about the site.
I told him he could probably sell 10 no problem but he said the less they make the more it costs. Dura-Blue Elimanitor Trik Axle is like $450 now. He said if the did 200 it would be normal. I told him he might be able to sell 200 within a year and that with the Internet they can rear the World Market for 84-85 Tecates. He is going to look into it and allso bring it up to his Bosses if its a good idea.
I know there are alot of 84-85 Tecates out there. Is there enough to make them like the idea and build 200. I'd buy one for sure, probably another down the road.

They just called me back and said that they will make a batch of 18-20 Eliminator Extended Axles for the 84-85 Tecate. Because they have most of the info there its all good but I need a Good Part Donation.
The Two 32 mm Lock Nuts part # 92015A on http://www.buykawasaki.com
Under Parts diagrams
They need these Nuts bo check the Thread and size so they can Adapt their Posi-Lock Sytem to work on the Axle. It uses an Allen Bolt to lock the thing in place.
This IS happening I just need these Parts so they can have the Thread Pattern correct and whatever. I will Have to Buy Them Up Front and become a Dura-Blue Dealer but I need to know I can sell 20 of these Eliminator Axles within a Year. I guess I might as well Buy all of the Radmfg Carriers allso. Sell them as a combo deal. The retail cost is $489.70 for one of these Axles but I may be able to sell them a little Cheaper. The Bearing carrier will be around $150
If I dont buy these Parts you can expect to never see these Parts for a 84-85 Tecate, and be stuck on an out dated rear end.
Is there any SERIOUS 84-85 Tectae Owners out there that want any of these Parts? This is Serious so if you cant afford it, dont own a Tecate or wont buy one dont even Post a Reply. I dont want this thread full of Crap just Tecate owners that will buy these parts and what they think I can sell within 6 months. I would allso appreciate any good input from the Gurus of the site.
I need those Two Nuts on the Rear Axle, Please Help the Cause. Lets get some good Parts for our Tecates Finally and all the Rest that will be Redone and swapped out.

I would be seriously interested in a durablue eliminator for my tecate. With very limited options this would be awesome to get one of these for the 1st generation T3. You should definitely be able to move 20 of these between this site, everything2stroke.com, and eBay. Please keep me posted on this! Now if we could only do things with an extended swingarm!

Miltech on herew makes nice Swingarms. There is a NOS Champion +2 Swinger on E-Bay right now. I wish OI could buy it but I got a Cal-Fab that I like. Get the Champion as they are rare and look real cool. If not Miltech can hook you up.
Would you allso be interested in Buying a Billit Bearing Carrier to go with that Rear Axle? I may have them build and buy 10-20 of them allso.
With the 01 Raptor Shock, the +2 Cal-Fab, a Radmfg Billit Carrier and an Extended Durable Axle My Tecate will Handle real sweet and look Killer to Boot:w00t:
Just wish I could update the Front End to Match.
Does anyone else have anything to add to this important deal for us Tecate owners. I need to know I can sell these Parts or I wont have them build these rare parts if I cant.

Durablue will make special order axles for vendors. Atleast that is what the reseller I called said and that is why the reseller still advertises them.
So heavy duty HD are available too. Prices and turnaround time were not discussed. But the guy on the phone acted like it was no big deal.

I'll call them again soon and have them contact dura-blue and then we'll know whether the guy is wrong.

He acted like it was no big deal because he doesnt know. What I posted above is the Only way you will get a Dura-Blue axle. Unless you can find an old one. I talked with the Manager at Dua-Blue and they need an order of at least 20 and need the Parts I mentioned in order to get their Posi Lock correct. I will have to become a dealer in order to do this but if there is enough interest I will go for it. If not were stuck with Stock.:wondering

Do you guys think spending $8000 is a good investment on these Axles and Carriers? Thats a big chunk of change. Any chance I get get Paid up front when its time?
So far there doest seem to be much interest.
I posted on . org allso.

I need at least 10 People who would like this setup. If so I will buy all the Parts, so we Tecate Riders can ride in Style and Comfort. Carriers and Axles. The cost of a Dura-Blue might seem steep but for the extra strength and length I think its worth it.$150 for a Billit carrier is a good deal. It seems Tapered is what most want.

I dont want to be a downer Meat but, 500 bones for an axle is just too steep. especially when you can easily buy a whole bike for that price and there are old extended axles that show up on ebay from time to time (I got mine for a round $60). I know you were only looking for buyers in this post but, I thought this needed to be said.

Tapered bearings are stronger, but need much more attention. If I am not mistaken, they are not sealed. They need to be packed BY HAND. No zerk. Seals need to be popped out, bearings packed and new seals re-installed.

As for the Durablue Axles...check over @ www.kawieriders.com Magoo (Corey Sprock of Sprock Racing) has alot of goodies for the Tecates. I remember talking to him and hearing him say he has some axles in stock. Not sure if he has any 1st gen T3s, but worth a quick check. Tell him I sent ya...he likes that sort of thing, not to mention...me sending people his way gets me better deals too! LOL! Good luck with the Durablue Folks. Hope it all works out.

Best of luck Meat, 200 axles in a year is a crazy amount for one person. I'd buy but I dont have that kind of cash being a student and all.

No I just need to buy 20, in order to have them build them. I allso got Rabmfg down to make carriers for this year Tecate.
But it seems there isnt enough interest in people spending $600 on a Rear end set up for their Tecate Both Axle and Carrier. Oh well I just thought I could get something going on for us Tecate owners.

here we go again, there are parts out there for us, and people are too cheap to buy them and then they *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* how no parts are available, do you guys remember about 1 year ago , how someone convinced lrd to make pipes for 350x's, and then needed 20 orders or something. Not that long ago people asked about lrd atc250r pipes, I told them if they want them, to call and request them and after 20 or so people call they might consider making them. I spend $400 on the axle for my 250r, $200 for the carrier, $180 for the anti-fade, $100 for the rotor and I bought a $600 swinger, yes I know I could have bought a whole bike for that, but IF YOU WANT GOOD AFTERMARKET PARTS, IT WILL COST YOU MONEY. Nobody is gonna make parts if you trike guys are too cheap to buy them. I know a guy who used to make axle locknuts for 84/85 tecates, machined billet aluminuim, with dual set screws, far superior than the stock things, he made 20 of them, he had a bunch of guys that wanted them, he put them on ebay and he sold 5, 4 years later he sold his last one. He commented to me, that these trike guys are so god damn cheap, they want parts, but they don't want to pay for them.

I would be interested in a carrier for sure. As for the axle, I would get a set of wheel spacers instead of spending that amount of cabbage on a new axle. I'm new to the site, but it seems to me there is not a large number of First Generation Tecate owners, (compared to the "R" and 200/350X crowd), that could justify spending the money. I could be wrong though? Count me in for a carrier though!

Frig b'y, come down on us some more you two. I don't have the cash to spend on a $600 (*Edited*.S. for that matter) axle and carrier. You want it then push for it but don't put me down because I can't come up with the money for it. If that wasnt your intention fine but it sure feels that way ol buddy.
