busted axle end

My 200x axle has list the end that the split pin goes through , it was like that when I got it , it dosent have a "castle" nut on it anymore just a normal nut so I was wondering what I could do as the nut comes loose over time. I can put another nut on to lock against the existing one as there isnt enough thread left...
I know I should try to get another axle but a quick fix for now would do until summer and the warmer weather.

drill it and put in another pin just outside the normal nut

weld it on. ha ha. maybe try some lock tite?

cant drill it the thread ends flush with the nut when tight

a generout amount of red loctite after the threads on both pieces have been well cleaned and degreased will probably hold better then it would if it had a cotter pin.

I have done this before for a friend. It's been 13 years and he hasn't had ANY problems. ;)
