I have an extra 350x carb. What differences are there between the 85-86 Model 350x carbs? I was told that it was an 86 model carb, but the pilot screw in this carb doesn't appear to be adjustable. This carb was on my bike and ran rich @ idle. Even with the throttle stop turned in all the way it would not idle correctly.:wondering

it is common for the idle screw to brake off on the 350x's. So thats why yours probably appears to be not adjustable. I belive there the same.

Only difference I am seeing from my manual is the part #.
1985 is stamped QA050A
1986 is stamped QA10A

I will post some pics of this carb. Where the pilot screw would normally be located theres a brass bushing instead. There is no screw slot. It appears to be factory. The seller said this carb had a Vance & Hines "Kit" in it. I wouldn't think the carb kit would have something like this that wasn't adjustable.

Seems to me there's a little bit difference in the pilot jet size. Think that was all I saw different in comparing the specs in the Honda Manual awhile back.

If you need a carb, I could send you my "NOS" special paper weight. Just let me know.

My mechanic buddy says he thinks its a tamperproof plug that was put in at the factory. It doesn't appear to have been broken. It is some type of plug.

Mine looks the same way and it got snapped off. If that is a stock carb that is your A/F screw and it is snapped off clean.

The lighter area is where the screw used to be.

Did you drill it out? Easyout? Whats the best way to remove it?

I'm yet to hear a good way of doing it. I still havent got it out. I'm thinking though of maybe jb welding a tiny metal rod to it so I can spin it off.

Very keen observation on the lighter coloured area of the brass part ,,, you swayyed me too thinking it might indeed be broken off.
But those numbers are into the Fourtrax carb #'s from what I am thinking
( again ,,, a judgement call from the clymers manual ). There is only 1 reference to a Fourtrax carb and it don't say what year but the # is QA 04A and that is it ,,, no more anything.

I think 350xinNy is right i am pretty sure the pilot jets are different i just rebuilt my carb with a kit and the pilot was different. The kit was for a 85. i have a 86. I cant remeber if it was smaller or larger? I do know they were different. I went with what was in the kit just because i had it and it was new. so far so good. If you have a etching tool or an engraver i think thats what you call them. you could make you a notch for a flat head screwdriver?
