I used to own one of those Wards three wheelers. By the time I got my mine from a bankrupt farming company ($50.00) it was converted to a 7HP Kohler engine. Not much for take off but it did have a good top end and it would pull almost anything. The landlord of the place I lived had one but I'm not sure of the maker. It was like new when I rode it and it had a 5HP tecumce engine on it. It was faster than the Kohler on take off but not on top end. These bikes were very popular here in Central California for pulling hoses in Orange Groves. This was because you could use your feet to steer while using your hands to grab the hose. My brother and I used to race them around an old equipement barn until he caught the rear wheel on a pipe that was sticking up from an old gas pump. Bent the crap out of the rear axle. He got a few good bruises out of it but we were so stoned we just laughed until it hurt. You should have seen that thing whip around when he caught that pipe. Fastest 360 I ever saw.
