aircooled R crank Question

I just finished putting the bottom end of the 83 R together, when I turn the crank it seems kind of hard to turn. It didnt get hard to turn until I put the clutch basket on. Is that normal? Also it dosent seem like it wants to go past third gear??

it should not be hard to rotate. It might be something in the clutch thats not right. You should be able to rotate freely. I would look into the clutch.

yah mayb you cranked downt he basket to tight on the crank.. i would try that if it binds just a tad it will rip it apart at 9K rpms
