1983 ATC starter cord and spring problems

I just bought a 1983 ATC 200 Big Red for a good deal and the starter cord broke on me yesterday. I took the cover off and retied the cord and everthing but now whenever i pulled the cord it will not go back in the whole way. The real problem is when i looked at it again today the spring in there popped out. Any suggestions as to how to put the spring back in or does anyone have a picture of what that spring should look like in place so i can try to fix it for the weekend????
