oem tanks are still available, but they are black. if you find a nos red tank, that is worth some coin, the last one on ebay sold for some crazy amount of money.

You might want to look at the Clarke tanks. I dont know what the quality is like but I heard its pretty good. They make a whole bunch of colors also. Sorry, I dont know there number or website.

if it comes from honda is it R109? or is there different kinds, i ordered my rear fender and tank shrouds from honda and the 2 colors match.

yep it should be R109 but original 85 or 86 plastics are a different colour (more like deep blood red) then plastics you buy from cal-atv or servicehonda etc these days they are more of a dull red colour....but if you can find a NOS red fuel tank it will be the original red and not the 'new' red.......
check out the photo's below the fender on the left is NOS 85R fender (moulded safety decal)and the one on the right is a new one from servicehonda(sticker type decal)......sorry my camera is'nt that good but trust me there not the same colour...

Yep the sticker type is OEM just a different colour to orignal 85/86.......the fuel tank will be the 85/86 colour because all the later ones were black PB-00

wow, so if i buy the new tank it will not match the rest of my plastics, my tank is in really good shape so i probably will keep mine and save some money. thanks for the info, i will find out in the next couple of hours on the 2 new tanks and let you guys know.

 You can do whatever you like with it..Its your tank..If you have a price in mind PM me

Now that clarkes are available and decent stock ones can be wet sanded to perfection there is only a rare few that will spend the bucks on one....Ive been spending way to much already :D
