I have a 1981 Honda 70 ATC, when she gets hot the spark disappears once she cools down it comes back. I have replaced the Stator Coil 3 times this year. The ATC will run fine for about a month than starts to act up, I also replaced the Ignition Coil and Spark Plug. All work is done with genuine Honda parts and by a authorized Honda dealer. The dealer and I are both scratching our heads at this. The only thing we have not tried is the on\off switch but I sort of doubt that is heat sensitive, does anybody have any answers for this?

Im amazed that your dealer hasnt suggested replacing the points and condensor as these are normal maintenance. The intermittent symtoms you describe are pretty classic for a bad condensor.

My buddy has 3 ATC70's and they ALL did this. Put points and condensor in them and it fixed them all.

The Stator Coil assembly has all new points and condenser on them, I have replaced the entire assembly as a complete unit, the only electrical items not replaced with brand new OEM parts is the on\off switch and the neutral safety switch in the engine. I don't understand how 3 complete assemblys could blow with in 1 year, I have all the old parts that were taken out of the ATC.
