We have a 1983 blue Honda atc70. We have heard that they are fairly uncommon and are wondering what its value would be. It is in very good condition and has very little use. It has a 4-speed transmision and is all original. After sitting for about 5 years we changed the oil and the gas and it started on the second pull, and it ran great!! We have heard that it could go for as much as two thousand in its condition. What do you think?
Thanks

Yeah we have to see some pictures so we know what it's condition is. 2g's is a high unless it is in near new condition.

I have one and have never seen one sell for over $800. The most valuable parts are the front and rear fenders and the tank and front forks. Otherwise, they are identical to the red ones. Feel free to post pictures. The part that always seems worse for wear are the front fender, they seem to get melted alot. The blue 70's were given away by Honda dealers and there was only 1 per dealer. If you look on the links page, there is a brochure describing the giveaway. You do have a nice limited production piece of honda history though.

Here are some pictures: 1983 blue Honda atc70
There is a very small spot on the front fender, but it is barely visible. The fender will touch front of the motor if it is turned all the way.

If the fender can touch the head, then you will have to straighten out stops for the forks, one of them is bent out of shape. If the stop gets bent far enough, it will dent in the side of the tank, which is a common problem. It is in very nice shape though, but 2g sounds like alot. The only 70 that usualy gets anywhere near that is the 1973-first year. You would probably get around 1g for it though. Until you fix the problem with the fork stop, ride it very sparingly. The blue pieces are very hard to find. There is a web site, Dratv.com that sells blue front and rear fenders, but the color is slightly off. I have a set for my blue 70 as my fenders were trashed. I transfer my fenders between the stock 70 and a PK Racing suspension 70. The only piece of literature that I know of is on the links page under the model year 1982, I believe. A brochure like the one shown sold in the springtime. I got sniped on it at the last minute. Each dealership had 1 blue 70 and they were given away at christmas, you couldn't buy one. They are quite uncommon. I have seen a nos 1973 atc70 gas tank for sale, but I have never seen any nos blue pieces for sale. Also the decals for the blue atc70s' are different than the decals for the red ones. You aren't trying to sell it are you? If so, I want first dibs.

The part that always seems worse for wear are the front fender, they seem to get melted alot.

The reason that happens is the frame is bent just behind the head stock, its usually caused by hitting things straight on. When you take the tank off you sometimes can see it.

Or as already mentioned the stoppers are broken/bent.

Thats interesting, Thats the only blue 70 I have ever seen. I have heard of them though. IT would be something really interesting to have setting here on the showroom but 2000 might be a bit steep. You never know what someone is willing to pay for something like that though.....

I like the Blue atc's. Honda did not make to many of those. I was able to snag up a Blue '83 110 for some $ and a trade, about 4 months ago. I couldn't pass that one up. I think they are really cool. I plan on keeping this one. It runs strong, but needs a carb rebuild. Cheers to you:beer , on the great piece of Honda trike History you have :w00t:
