I was wondering what the first trike that everybody rode and how old you were and where you rode it.

Ill start:

I was about 5 and it was a Honda 70. Im not sure on what year but it was the early narrow tank shape. I rode it at the beach in typical aussie style.

It was a 1984 225dx. It was during the summer. Ive been riding dirtbikes since I was 6 (im 17). Quads since I was 9. I have to say, that trike was the funnest thing I have ever ridden. I always wanted a 250R but couldnt never afford one.

I was going to get an ATC70 when I was young, but my mom put a stop to that, so I only sat on one at the deaership. :( I later rode a Yamaha YT60 Tri-Zinger. It belonged to a friend of mine, but he got an XR80, so I always rode the Zinger. I guess I was about six or seven at the time. I used to donuts for what seemed like hours at a time.

Lets see, the frist trike I rode was my brothers '79 Honda atc 110 back when I was 10 or so. It was the first time I saw a 3 wheeler too, I still remember looking under the deck and seeing the front end the day he got it.

A Honda 110 Was the 1st. I was like 13 and it was new so it was a an 83 Then a Yamaha 225 in 85.
I had one of those Tri-Sport Trikes that was pretty nice. Cool fiberglass but a bit rough even for a 12 year old. That I consider a Buggy type Trike.
Got my 1st dirt bike when I was 9, begged my dad for at least 2 years after seeing the Neighbor bring home an old YZ in pieces in his car and Trunk. Once I saw it done and running I was Hooked:w00t:

It was a brand new 1981 110. I must have been like 8 years old. I didn't get my own trike until 1984 when I was 11. It was a brand spanking new 1985 200x.

It's weird to me that so many people have never even seen, let alone ridden, a brand new trike. If I ever get a scanner again I can post some action shots of a brand new 1985 250sx and that 110. Already posted a bunch of my 200x. I wish I would have had the foresight to take a camera to a dealer back then and get pics of all those brand new trikes lined up...

My grandfather brought home a 83 200. He gave it to all of the kids on christmas morning in 1985. I can remember some really good times riding on that old unsuspended trike. I wish I could get it back

mine was a brand new 1980 atc 110. i was 13. rode it mostly on this long highway that was under contruction that the state had run out of money on. it was just miles of sand with woods and marsh on both sides. that was the good old days.

not sure of the exact age but I'd say 1976 or 77, (approx 9 yrs old) my friend (same age) had a ATC90 that we rode on is grandma's farm. Soon after that I bought a 1973 ATC70 for $300. I sold my H.O. scale train to buy the 70!

I was 17 and my first trike was a 200M. I had begged for a motorcycle and then an ATC since I was old enough to talk. My parents finally made the mistake of saying, 'when you buy one, you can have one.' I shut up and saved my money and brought home a brand new 200M one afternoon. My mom threw a fit, but she gave in, eventually. She was won over completely when I pulled her car up an icy driveway she was spinning her tires on after an ice storm. I pretty well thrashed it the next two years, trying to hang with the big boys. I sold it for $100 less than I, originally, bought it for, and I wish I still had it. Good memories.

When I was around 8-9 we had a little Honda mini-trail. Traded it for a 1984 185. Still remember the day when my dad dropped the tail gate and loaded it out. It was the coolest thing I ever saw! And look where that has got me, riding a Tri-Z!

1982. I was laid off my fabrication job and worked for the local Honda dealership.

I was putting up the used bikes that sat outside.

I was just about inside the garage when the three wheeler I was riding started to slide on the sandy concrete. Like a dummy I put my foot down and the back wheel ran over my foot and up my leg, pulling me completely off the trike.

I was sure I broke my leg or at least dislocated my hip. I was about 24 so I took it pretty well. I limped around for a day or two but was ok after that.

Lucky no one at the shop saw me. lol.

I was between 3-5 years old and my dad and I were down at the local riding area with his friends and they had either a suzuki alt50 or a yamaha tri-zinger, cant remember, its been a day or two since then. but any way I remember my dad putting a life jacket and a helmet on me and showing me how to make it go and how to make it stop.

well I took off and I was off to the races, the only problem was that I was watching my dad watch me ride while he was looking back at me looking at him and not where I was going.

well I crashed and I cried and I didnt want anything else to do with that little 3 wheeler. well the bug was stuck with for a long time and I always wanted a 3 wheeler but never had the chance to own one up until a couple of years ago and now I own 3.

I got a 79 honda 110 back in 82 traded a 56 chevy truck project with a big block in it. I only saw the motor in the truck start once, talked to the guy about 3 months later and he wanted to trade back, I decided to keep the trike, sold it about 3 months later.

Mine was a brand new 1984 200s which my father bought 2 of them one for him and one for me. I was 12. Madonna was hot. The ramones and the sex pistols rocked. And Rambo was saving the day from those pesky Russians.

first ride I was about 3 on the back of my Dad's 72 atc 90 at our friends summer place out at warsaw. I think those summers are one of the reason for my obsession with trikes now:) That was also the first trike I drove, I love that little trike:TrikesOwn

Mine was a 79 110 bought new in 1-79 at age of 19 years. Saw a kid a week before riding in the snow and doing wheeles. That hook me! Not long after, a bunch of my buddies bought 110's also and we rode every Sunday afternoon.

My first ride was on a 75 atc90. It belonged to a neighbor that had it sitting in a shed and I kept bugging him to get it running until one day I helped him get it running. My dad got it for me for Chrismas of 77, I was l5. I had a blast on it. I was raised in Va. and there weren't alot of 3 wheelers around where I lived. I remember getting 3 wheeler magazine new and ordering a couple of bits and pieces out of the magazine, by just putting cash in the envelope and sending it! When I went into the navy after graduating high school I sold the atc90 to a buddy who promptly trashed it and threw it away. While I was in the navy, a shipmate bought a brand new 81 250r and he let me ride it. It was the difference between night and day from the old atc90. I didn't own another 3 wheeler until 2003 when a friend gave me a basket case klt110. It got me hooked again and here I am.

The first trike I ever rode was my Dad's new 74 atc90. I was 6 years old at the time. I have loved trikes ever since. I was sad :( when he traded it off with some other stuff for a beat up 65 stang, about 10 years ago. The 90 we now have is almost exactly the same. :p I do know the people he traded it to, but the chances of them still having it are slim. Then, while we still had the 90, Dad bought a brand new 84 atc110. I'm happy that I still have this trike today, and it is low hours new condition. It only needs a new chain guard as the one it had got hit with a big piece of wood on the ground (from the orchard). I have lots of great trike memories from growing up on them,:naughty: and would not have it any other way. :p

1985 or 1986. I think I was 14 or 15 and it was a neighbor's new 86 350X. He said if you can start it, you can ride it. I started it and rode it. Tried to buy it from him for a few years when I was in my later 20s. It was immaculate. Then he gave it to his nephew who trashed it somewhere around 2000. That ride hooked me on the 350X.

Great stories guys! It really brings back a lot of memories. In the early part of 1983 when I was still 9my uncle bought an ATC 200. He taught me how to ride out in a field by his house. I was hooked! My dad actually bought me a 1983 ATC 185s about 2 months later. I still have it and am going to restore it. That is about all I thought about in school is getting home and riding it in the woods by our house. One of my friends got a 1982 ATC 185s and another of my friends got an ATC 110. We wore those things out!! Later when I was 16 and had a job I saved up and got the ultimate...A 1985 ATC 350X. I wish I had that one back. It ripped!!

Back around 1985, there was a camp above the house. They had a 1980 atc185 and a 1983 Big Red, it was either one or the other, can't remember which. Me and his son put alot of hours on those trikes. LOL.

the first trike I ever rode was a 85 suzuki 185? I was only 10 in 1985, my friend got it brand new that summer. It was not untill 1992 until I rode my first atc 250r that was my friends. He just bought a brand new 92 banshee and made a bet that I could not beat him in a race..later that summer I took him up on it and raced it a Smithroad raceway.....I lapped him and I think I took 2 or 3 in the quad class that day on his own atc 85 250r! I was hooked!!! Although I did not by my first trike until 96 which was a mint 85 200x. My daughter on the other hand....my wife was 8mons pregnant w/her when I bought her a 85 atc 70. She 2 now and loves it!!
