Well, I just thought I would share a pic of a project of mine. I bought it a year or so ago and after riding it a couple times the piston came apart and well I am sure you can guess what happened. So I got to rebuild it and while i was in there it got a few upgrades. I went with a .20 over wesico piston and had the head shaved 7 thousenths. I found a new stock expansion chamber and went with a new silencer. So here is a pic of it almost finished. Just a few things left.

nice, how much of a difference does the narrow front end make on the older r?
Are those 200x front forks?

Yeah thats a 1985 200x front. I like it, I think it gives it a better look then the stock front. The 200x shocks are just a little longer so it puts the front just a little higher.

where did you get that silencer ? what are the rear hubs off of, and how do they fit on the axle?

I found the silincer at a local honda shop, and the hubs are off a 185s or something like that. They fit perfect and work great. I was going to use 200x hubs but they wouldnt fit the wheels.

Hmmmm... I was thinking for sure those were 200X wheels and hubs. If the 200X hubs don't fit the rims, then they must not be 4/110. Not sure what you have there... :wondering
200X hubs would work, along with 83-84R hubs. I have used both on my 82R so I could use 4/110 rims. My latest though is using 400EX hubs... this gives me both the ability of the 4/110 rims AND an additional 1" of width.

I can say for sure those hubs are 83-85 200X hubs currently on that 81R. 400EX,300EX and 86-87 200X hubs will give an additional 1" per side. Here is a pic of my 81R with 300ex hubs and a link to the thread about the difference it made on my 85 200X.

hey, sorry all. I was thinking of a different set of wheels that I run on it. So yes, these are hubs off a 1984 200x. The other wheels and tires I run use 185 hubs.

Do you want to sell the 81 R front end?
