my freind has a all black 225 dx (1984) are they any different from the 85's in the engine wise? and i heard that the all black one was a special edition????

The Black is a special edition but the only differences I know of are the color of the plastic and the decals. Engine wise they are the same and I can't think of any other difference, of course my bro's old black 225 wasn't all that exactly original but I never came across differences in the parts diagrams either.

The 1985 special had reverse.That is the only motor differance i can think of.The 84 didn't have reverse.

i used to have a regular 84 225dx back in the day. my dad wanted to get the black on but it was sold already. they said each dealer only got 1 or 2 each. i'm 33 now

there was black tri z's also.

ohh thats cool, thanks jason. Do * remember if the front tire was the 22x11x8 small rim with huge and wide front tire on the black one/? or did it come with a skinnier taller rim and tire.
